"Come child,
Mother Day awaits.
For it is sunset."
Stars will scatter 'round and 'round
As Day takes off her somber crown
And shakes her mantle darkly down
Brother Night,
Soft and slender
Glances down and will remember
The darkness before
All the glaring lights and sigh
'Why? Why chase me away?'
He murmurs
'Come my friends!'
He calls to Lady Moon
And her band of Stars
'Tonight they will hear!'
Playing the beautiful music
Again each night
Until,
His sister rises again
And to her,
Joy is bestowed.
She blushes,
Setting the blue sky
Alight
Each morning and evening.
The same show.
Night waits,
With Lady Moon
And her Stars
For a small chance
To be loved
Each sunset
Notes drifted down
As I sat next to Grandpa
"I can hear them!"
He smiled at me.
"As do I."
Mother Day awaits.
For it is sunset."
Stars will scatter 'round and 'round
As Day takes off her somber crown
And shakes her mantle darkly down
Brother Night,
Soft and slender
Glances down and will remember
